1st March 2019- Hi everyone. This week I want to talk a bit about what is mindfulness and how it can help us to become calmer and more relaxed.
Mindfulness to me is simply to be aware of my surroundings. I find it much easier to focus on what is happening around me when I’m doing gentle exercises like walking, swimming or jogging. When I’m exercising I listen to the sounds around me i.e. birds singing or the sun shining and I can feel the warmth on my face.
We had such lovely weather last week I spent some time in my garden practising mindfulness. Some of the fruit trees are blossoming now I have seen tulips and daffodils poking their heads out. Mindfulness is not about learning a new thing to help you cope with anxiety or depression. Mindfulness is simply just being and noticing the nature around you and enjoying being outside, because you deserve to treat yourself to a more relaxed you
