Counselling

There are different types of counselling practices around the whole world. To me counselling is a therapeutic process where you meet with a counsellor who gently guides you in your journey to self-discovery. This journey can bumpy, tearful and emotional. However, it can also be very interesting and full of lovely surprises you didn’t know about yourself.

  • ‘What to expect from counselling sessions’

Counselling is a very special time where you can talk about what worries you, you can talk about your deepest secrets without a worry of being told what to do or being judged for the way you are. In counselling you can expect to be understood, supported and listen to.

  • ‘How long do I have to attend counselling for’

The counselling can be short or long term meaning you could see a counsellor just for a session or for unlimited sessions. This all depends on you and how much you need emotional support with. However, it is worth remembering that counselling is a process – not a quick fix and it can take time to feel better again.

  • ‘Who attends counselling’
Counselling is for anyone who struggles emotionally. People from different backgrounds attend counselling, this is often recommended by their friends, family or a GP.
